According to the latest national survey of Insomar
polling institue, Romanian citizens primarily blame President Basescu for the current political instability. Both the President and his PM candidate would lose against their opponents due to increasing public discontent. Pessimism has also hit record levels: Only 13% of poll respondents think that their personal situation will improve in the next three months. The IMF is delaying the third tranche of its loan to Romania, which may jeopardize payment of salaries. The delay may also further damage Basescu's chances of prevailing in the two-round election set for November and December.
