President Barack Obama announced December 1 that the US will send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. The president also asked the other countries participating in the mission to increase their troop levels. Most allies appear to be willing. CEE and SEE countries have about 5,600 troops in Afghanistan, with the largest contingent coming from Poland (2,000 soldiers). In per capita terms, NATO aspirant Bosnia-Herzegovina has made the biggest contribution to the occupation.
